Welcome to our Website

Letter from your Chair

Dear Club/Player/Official/Coach/Manager/Parent/Carer/Stakeholder. As we enter our fifth week of lockdown; post the Easter Break and what would have been the start of a very full and exciting term of netball for all ages and abilities in Humberside, I thought it only right that I contact you all.

First of all a huge thank you to all the NHS and Key worker staff who are part of Humberside County Netball Association; what incredible, dedicated and wonderful work you continue to do at these strange and very challenging times.

Huge shout out too to our youngest members; the U9s right through to the U18s, at a time when your natural development and ‘rite of passage’ is to test the boundaries, enjoy a bit of freedom and independence; you are being asked to stay at home, everything cancelled, with huge restrictions on your current life unknown and inconceivable in past generations. You are amazing, you have been amazing through all this and will no doubt continue to be so and you should all be very proud of your selves.

From a netball perspective, whilst Humberside County Netball Association cannot make decisions about resuming play until Government restrictions have been lifted and it is deemed safe to do so; I can assure you that we are in contact with one another behind the scenes, in various ways, having discussions and making tentative plans.

Our biggest concern during this time is your health and well-being. The internet is saturated with ways to exercise during lockdown, whether it is Joe Wicks or Tamsin Greenway (bespoke) and many others, which I hope that you are enjoying and making use of. Michelle Kellett is regularly posting updates on both our Facebook page and our website https://www.facebook.com/groups/364549580808606/ http://www.humbersidenetball.co.uk/ Plus information from our very own Olivia Park and Instagram page @thenetballpsych

I know that teams have had some good fun with Tik Tok and meetings on zoom which is great to keep up that team spirit and camaraderie, albeit remotely.

The HCNA committee would also like to signpost you to the following useful organisations that could be helpful to you if required:

https://www.trusselltrust.org
https://emergency.eastriding.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19/
http://www.hull.gov.uk/health-and-wellbeing/public-health/coronavirus-covid-19

Most importantly, as we enter the second phase of lockdown, it’s really important that you stay safe and look after yourself and your loved ones. We have some wonderful clubs, teams, players, volunteers across Humberside Netball that are here for you. This moment reminds us that we’re all connected like never before and called upon to be our best selves. Stay patient, stay focused and stay hopeful. We will get through this and be able to continue to participate in the sport we love.

Kind Regards Rebecca Hutchinson
(Chair) Humberside County Netball Association

England Netball updated statement – Coronavirus

In light of the government’s announcement today (16.03.2020) around Coronavirus (COVID-19), England Netball’s Health Advisory Group has reviewed the government guidance provided and has made the difficult decision to suspend netball activity across the country at all levels of the game at this time.
The health and safety of the Netball Family is our main priority and to avoid the spread of Coronavirus we will be continuing to follow the government’s advice, which is to move away from mass gatherings and for the public to avoid any unnecessary contact where possible over the coming weeks.  :: Read More ::
